The Indianapolis Colts have added quite a bit of talent at the cornerback position with the free agency signings of Xavier Rhodes and TJ Carrie. Both players could carve out roles for themselves in 2020, but Chris Ballard may not be done adding talent at the position.
Reports have come out that the Colts have some level of interest in LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Fulton would be an intriguing addition for the Colts, although he is projected to go late in the first round or early in the second. Indianapolis would likely have to take him with the No. 34 overall pick.
Last season with the Tigers, Fulton ended up recording 38 total tackles to go along with an interception and 14 defended passes. Those numbers show how talented he is as a cover corner. His skill-set should translate nicely to the next level.
NFL.com is currently comparing Fulton to current Colts cornerback Quincy Wilson. While Wilson has not developed the way Indianapolis was hoping, there is no denying the raw talent that he possesses.
It will be interesting to see where Fulton ends up in the NFL Draft. Ballard and the Colts may not end up taking him, but it is interesting to note that they have some level of intrigue in him.
Expect to hear quite a bit more about the Colts and their interest in prospects in the coming days. Ballard has had a big offseason so far, but he needs to nail the draft once again.
