As the 2020 NFL season continues to draw closer, the Indianapolis Colts have become an intriguing team to keep an eye on. In other news, Antonio Brown’s name has been coming up a lot in recent days.
With the news that Brown has been suspended for eight games in 2020, teams now know what they can do and when they will have the star wideout if they choose to sign him. While the Colts haven’t been talked about much as a potential landing spot, they have been named a potential dark-horse destination for him.
Among all teams in the NFL, the Colts were given the sixth-highest odds to end up landing Brown at 10/1 odds.
Bringing in a star wide receiver like Brown would certainly be an interesting move for the Colts. No matter who picks him up, it will be on a low-cost, high-reward type of deal. Brown will be in danger of being cut the second he steps out of line.
During the 2019 season, Brown only ended up playing in one game. That game came with the New England Patriots, where he caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. He had a rough time with the Oakland Raiders and ended up being released before signing with the Patriots and being released again after his one game.
Indianapolis doesn’t necessarily need a big-time weapon at wide receiver. They already have T.Y. Hilton, Parris Campbell, Michael Pittman Jr., and Zach Pascal at the position.
Due to the depth they already have at wide receiver, signing Antonio Brown seems like a long shot. It is intriguing to think about though.
Philip Rivers is now the starting quarterback in Indianapolis and is hoping to lead the team back to serious contention. In order to compete with teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, having a weapon like Brown would be a major positive.
Expect to see the Colts pass on the possibility of signing Brown. However, it is something that is intriguing to think about and debate.
