The Indianapolis Colts are heading into the 2020 NFL Draft with a few different needs that they could focus on filling. Many think the franchise will target a wide receiver at No. 34 and possibly another wide receiver or offensive lineman at No. 44. Indianapolis also has the No. 75 overall pick in the third round.

Pro Football Focus has made their predictions for who the team will target with each of their selections. In the third round, they have the Colts taking Ohio State cornerback Damon Arnette.

Arnette would be a nice addition for the Colts’ secondary. Xavier Rhodes was signed to be a veteran presence and likely starter, but the team could always use more depth, especially depth that could be a starter long-term.

Last season with the Buckeyes, Arnette ended up recording 35 total tackles to go along with a forced fumble, an interception, a defensive touchdown, and eight defended passes.

Standing in at 6-foot-0 and 195 pounds, Arnette is more of a zone corner than man-to-man. He could develop into a solid man corner, but right now he doesn’t bring that ability to the table.

Indianapolis would be taking a chance on the pure raw talent that Arnette possesses. He is athletic and has a chance to become a very good all-around role player. However, there is a ton of work to do and it could take some time.

Thankfully, the Colts have solid secondary depth already and could give him the chance to improve in a depth role. He wouldn’t have to play right away.

Expect to see the Colts have a very interesting draft. Chris Ballard has shown time and time again that while fans may not agree with his picks, they usually end up being the right selection.
