We had the chance to talk to Markus Allen who just finished up an unofficial visit to Purdue. Markus Allen is a class of 2021 6’2″ 190 lbs 3* Wide Receiver from Clayton, Ohio. Here’s what he had to say:
“The visit went good honestly. We broke up individually into groups of your position and had position meetings. Which that showed me why Purdue is recruiting me and what Coach Shepard likes about my game. I really like the Football Staff as a whole. The Coaches want to build good Men and good Football players. They want to make sure you leave there with some sort of degree and that you are up and running on your feet in the business world and that you succeed at the highest level when it comes to football. The staff is very God oriented like they believe heavy and a lot into God and keep that faith up and are just great people overall.”
Markus lists Coach Barclay, Coach Shepard and Coach JMichael Jonard as the coaches he has been in contact with the most.
In terms of position Allen said “they are looking at the Z Wide Receiver on the outside to catch deep balls and be a playmaker there.”
Allen lists education as the the most important thing he is looking for in a program and lists Nutrition and Dietetics and his planned major in college.
Schools Allen has been in contact most with are: Indiana, Michigan, Virginia, Pitt, Michigan State and been in some contact with Ohio State.
In terms of a timeline, Allen is looking to make a decision in the summer and plans to take more visits once the pandemic is over with.
